Yet you disagree with the C+ grade given to the Giants for taking Barkley :

So what this tells me is that you only trust the views if they match YOUR views.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Eagles pick is interesting.

On the one hand, they certainly could use a backup tight end, but other people are reporting it was doubly done to screw Dallas given Witten retired today, which is the interesting part. The Eagles traded up to #49 to take the 3rd of three TE's that are reportedly NFL ready. Dallas picked #50.

EDIT: Also, this trolling while making that 49th pick is insane. Hope Akers makes it out of Dallas alive.

I started to think that Witten would never retire.

I don't remember him ever getting seriously hurt

Barkley isn't the best player in the draft. The entire NFL is constructed so that the QB is the absolute linchpin of team, have longer shelf lives and have the greatest impact towards the teams success. Sam Darnold was the best player in the draft. Quarterbacks can still be awesome into their mid 30's. A lot of backs are already not the same at 28 or so. Just look at Arian Foster, Demarco Murray, Jamaal Charles, and Larry Johnson

Barkley is going to be a very good player I believe. I like him a lot. But there are Barkleys every year. Heck Dalvin Cook impressed me more + he can break tackles. I liked Gurley more than Barkley as well. And these are recent guys.

I remember someone saying the Giants wouldn't draft Barkley
    That did not age well

Chubb never developed the receiving aspect of the game. So no he's not the best in the draft

But as a pure between the tackles back Chubb is terrific. He is not as flashy as Barkley. But he gets about the same results which is all that matters. Plus he'll cost less

That's a lot to live up to. This is really absurd that these are their expectations. Let him be who he is. Which is a very good RB for however long his career lasts.

    Funny thing about Witten :

If it wasn't for Vinny Testaverde choosing to throw him the ball a lot when he was in Dallas, no one would've ever have heard of Jason Witten.

Plenty of experts said they felt Barkley was the best player in the draft, but the value of the position hurts.

Top 3 RB of all time is...a stretch to be polite about it.

And a LB in the third round? Reese would have drafted two punters by now.

Exactly. And it's a shame. But that's also why you see virtually every NFL offense is now constructed for passing, passing, passing, a run play, and then more passing.

To be honest, the game is becoming boring in that regard.

I would have failed in that prediction too. When you need a Quarterback and 75 offensive lineman, taking a Running back at #2 doesnt make sense.

Depends on when you were making the prediction...Gettleman was very transparent, the whole 'I need to envision a #2 overall pick someday wearing a gold jacket' quote smacked of greasing the skids to pick a non-QB and best talent available, which the Giants usually try to go by anyway. Supposedly they would have picked Chubb if Barkley went #1.

I know many people believe in the mythical BPA but in a cap league where QB has so much intrinsic value (and RB so little) it doesn't really fit in this circumstance. They should have traded out of #2 if they weren't going to pick QB but they don't believe in that either.

Giants should take Hurst from Michigan.

    Continue their A+ draft.

I thought Hurst was already taken? He wasn't?

Well then....they should take him 'cause he won't last long in the draft if they don't.

They had to pick someone eventually unless they were that sold on Webb at least being a backup and they didn't even bother to play him last year.

At least the Jets filled 'a' need at TE, of course Maccagnan avoiding O-linemen in the draft is like Shero avoiding defensemen till the 7th round.

After some thought, I'm still not thrilled with my Bills. I wanted Rosen so badly. I get that Allen has the arm strength and athleticism and whatever but I just don't see him putting it together. Everything about this screams Terry Pegula and not Brandon Beane. I'd love to be proven wrong.

Edmunds was a fantastic pick and Phillips is a textbook McDermott guy, but tbh this draft will be defined entirely on Allen's performance and nothing else. The Bills needed to hit a homerun here and there's just so many question marks surrounding him that he wasn't worth the risk, let alone trading for that risk.

Yikes...hopefully they've had advances in treating it over the last 25 years. Just went to the Raiders in the 5th round btw
