Likely AHL guy who could possibly slide into the third pairing or as a #7.

There's zero reason to dislike this. At worst we send him back in a year.

There are some rumors in Russia about Dyblenko. Curious what is the problem? Russian journalist said he can not publish news now, because Dyblenko is under contract. Must be serious ... and bad.

How would any of us know? And let's not post unconfirmed rumors either.

I had high hopes for Dyblenko when he signed, but at this point he's probably 8th or 9th D on the Devils' depth chart. If he went home it wouldn't really affect us much.

Dyblenko played last night in favor of Walman in last night's 3-2 loss to Syracuse. He was even in +/-, but he was on for the first PP goal against during the 3-on-5 after D Strait took a bad cross-checking penalty with Speers already in the box for tripping.

Dyblenko had been scratched for the previous six games. Binghamton won five of those six. @Ski listed Dyblenko as injured for the second and third of those six consecutive scratches. Dyblenko has missed 12 total games this season with those six games constituting half of them. Prior to the recent stretch of scratches he was scratched on February 3rd (last Binghamton win prior to the this last stretch) )and was scheduled for a second consecutive scratch on February 7th but started as the seventh D as a last minute replacement for F Kevin Morris who was injured by a puck to the head in warmups (Binghamton lost).

Dyblenko played every game in January and November. He was a healthy scratch on December 6th (OTW) and was suspended for two games on the 15th (L) and 16th (W) for taking two ten minute misconducts on the 13th against Belleville in which 148 PIM were assessed. If I remember correctly he was crosschecked in the mouth and went after the Senators and actually kicked one of them. Maybe @ZekeA or @mmazz22 has a better recollection of the events.

Dyblenko was scratched for two consecutive games on October 20th (W) and 21st (L). It was strange because one was a healthy scratch and for one he was deemed ill. I attended the game on the 21st and saw him walking the concourse during intermission.

Dyblenko has been mostly played as the third pair RD with an occasional bump up to the second pair and got a look or two on the left side in early October. Jake Walman on loan from St. Louis also has been playing 3 RD after coming over on January 31st and has outplayed Dyblenko. Santini also plays on the right side usually on the second pair, so Dyblenko has been bumped down.

Dyblenko is in the first year of a two year two way contract.

He was starting to pick it up offensively, but still only has 1 g 5 a with a -13 in his 44 games to Walman's 1 g 2 a and +3 in his seven games with Binghamton (3 g 13 a -2 47 GP total including his time with the Chicago Wolves). Santini has one goal in 13 GP with a -1.

Binghamton is 9-3 with Dyblenko out of the lineup.

Dyblenko is the only player from Russia in the organization currently in North America. Prospect Nikita Popugayev left Prince George to return to Russia at the end of October. The Devils also still have prospects D Yegor Zaitsev and C Mikhail Maltsev playing in Russia after dealing D Yegor Rykov to the New York Rangers in the Michael Grabner trade. New Jersey also still owns the rights to Belorussian F Artur Gavrus who is playing in the KHL.

Fellow countryman D Andrei Mironov was released by Colorado yesterday to return to play in the KHL.

Dyblenko is starting on the first pair tonight with Brian Strait in Josh Jacobs' usual spot.

    Update:

Saturday night Dyblenko was penalized for a questionable (according to PBP announcer Rob Lippolis) holding call which lead to Lehigh Valley's first goal in their 4-0 victory over Binghamton in his debut on the first pair. 1 SOG.

Sunday afternoon Dyblenko started his second consecutive game on the first D pair with Brian Strait and had a more successful outing earning a secondary assist in Binghamton's 7-2 triumph over Utica in a chippy, scrappy affair in which a total of 91 PIM were assessed between the two clubs. Binghamton killed both of Dyblenko's minor penalties for slashing and tripping. 1 SOG.
