Solid draft for you. Albin Eriksson will probably look a like a steal for you here on draft day. He's likely going late 1st or early 2nd round.

Nice pick. Steeves was my highest rated forward for a while now. The Fighting Saints can put the puck in the net, and with Solow gone, Steeves really stepped up this year and ended over a ppg. My biggest reservation with him is that he is in his 3rd full season in the league, so he isn’t an inexperienced rookie putting up those points, but a silky veteran. But as I stated, he finally had opportunity and ran with it. At this point in the draft he is an absolute steal value wise.

The next highest rated player from Central Scouting is D Vladislav Yeryomenko so I nominate him.

With our last pick Ottawa selects LW David Levin. At this point of the draft I'm going with OHL draft pedigree. Hopefully he comes back strong next season in Sudbury.

1 (4) - RW, Filip Zadina (Halifax, QMJHL)
1 (22) - RW, Jonatan Berggren (Skelleftea, SHL)
4 (95) - RW Ruslan Iskhakov (Krasnaya Armiya Moskva - MHL)
    5 (126) - RW Lenni Killinen, Espoo U20 (SM-Liiga Jr A)
6 (157) - LW, Ivan Muranov (MHK Dynamo Moskva, MHL)
7 (188) - LW, Tristen Nielson (Calgary, WHL)
7 (194) - LW, David Levin (Sudbury, OHL)

    1 (10th) - Jesperi Kotkaniemi, C, Pori Assat (Liiga)
2 (40th) - Nils Lundkvist, RD, Lulea HF (SHL)
    3 (71st) - David Gustafsson, C, HV71 (SHL)
    5 (133rd) - Curtis Hall, C, Youngstown Phantoms (USHL)
6 (164rd) - Oliver Okuliar, LW, HK Dukla Trencin (Slovakia)
7 (195rd) - Danila Zhuravylov, LD, Irbis Kazan (MHL)

Absolutely love the players I got in this draft. I would have liked to have a few more picks to draft 2-3 more players who will be playing CHL hockey next year but at every pick I got a player I really like.

It was between Struthers and Zhuravylov for my last pick, ended up going with the Skilled D but I’m a bit suprised it took this long for either to go.

I was surprised too. Some of the mocks I've seen have had Zhuravylov go in the late second/early third. Struthers is a guy I'd take with our third to be honest. That line is going to absolutely dominate the OHL next season. Struthers is big, he's defensively responsible and he can skate. He's also got a pretty good shot for a younger OHLer.

Nice snag at 196. I was surprised he lasted this long despite having somewhat of an underwhelming rookie year in the Q. Good along the boards protecting the puck, great shot, moves decently for a big guy. I was holding out hope he'd still be there for my last pick given he was still on the board. I think he goes 2 or 3 rounds sooner at the real draft in a couple weeks.

Great draft for you. I don't know much about the last two guys you selected but the first four are great and I think all of those guys will be gone way earlier in the real thing than they did in this mock.

Damn, I didn't realize Struthers was still available. I just thought to myself "belair has already taken him, no need to even take a look", haha.

Can’t believe he’s still available in round 7. He’s a massive sleeper in this draft both potential and size-wise. Between him and Jack Drury you won’t find a player who works so hard on the ice shift in and shift out. Great pick SpoolCat.
