Wahlstom, Kaut, and Addison?
They're either taking Smith or eating some of the contract. Otherwise I can't get on board. So if they ate $1.5M? Sure.
I'd be thrilled with all the picks 1st and 2nd round outside of maybe Groulx. I personally can't really say anything about him but I wouldn't want another Gropp pick
If he’s as good at blocking trades as he is at blocking shots, we’ve got a chance.
Swap Kaut out for someone else and that is pretty much my dream draft
If the Rangers passed on O'Brien and JBD I might flip my coffee table.
You know, just to play devil's advocate, he's from Vancouver and Vegas just rewrote the expansion roadmap. It's not a foregone conclusion he refuses to waive for the Seattle draft. Seattle taking him is another story, but he may not eat up a slot.
This makes no sense for Edmonton
Yeah none what so ever.
There will probably be another round of compliance buy-outs after the next lockout. Will Seattle have their team before then or after?
I don't know how smart it would be to operate under the assumption that there will be another set of buy-outs after the next lock out
I think teams will have a pretty good idea if there will or won't be
Sure, but I doubt they'd know at this point, so why start taking on giant contracts now? And who knows, there might not be another lockout because Bettman probably won't want to ruin what would be Seattle's first season with one after the season Vegas just had
Logically it doesn't make sense to not have them
There's so many factors. Each team lost 2 decent players in a few years. You can argue the franchise fee is enough but maybe buyouts are something to appease teams.
Kaut at 26 is a steal!.
Why don't u like him?
I haven't seen him outside of the WJC, just going off of what some others have said.
Now that isn't the best way to go about things, but there are players in that range that I really like. Berggren intrigues the **** out of me.
Wahlstrom+Addison is a HR draft for me already.
That would also be a solid draft.
Interesting that they noted Kotkaniemi as a top six prospect.
I would be very curious to see how different teams view him.
I would be shocked if owners did not push for a couple of buyout options in return for the “quality players we are giving up in order to make instant contenders.”
It will be a demand.
We knew this already didn't we?
Sorta kinda ... but at least it's becoming more vocal.
